Camping used to be about hot dogs, smores, a cup of hot cocoa and storytelling around the campfire. Unfortunately, times have changed and we can’t eat the campfire favorites we grew up with like we used to.
I recently spent the weekend in Yosemite taking in the sites with a good friend. Preparing for the trip didn’t go quite like I remember, but this is what I did.
Now, i’m not at the level where I am creating fabulous recipes like my fellow bloggers. So be prepared for me to dish out some recipe round-up love here.
If you aren’t familiar with Ketodietapp, then you should be! A majority of what I made for my weekend in Yosemite came directly from her awesome recipes, making this camping trip as good as any other.
For breakfast I whipped up a double batch of the Basic Keto Pancakes with a coconut flour base, pairing them with bacon and eggs. These pancakes came out light and tasty, making them easy to re-heat when needed. I would definitely make these on a regular basis just so I could satisfy my pancake cravings every other weekend. To save myself some food blogging embarrassment, I will give you Martina’s beautiful photo so you can see how delicious they really are.
I whipped up a batch of Keto Buns, making it easy to pack sandwhiches for our long hikes to the waterfalls. In addition to the keto buns, I also whipped up a batch of Domestic Man‘s Mayo from his soon to be released cookbook Paleo Takeout – order yourself a copy now!
Can’t go camping without granola! Martina has a great recipe for Pumpkin Spiced Granola that is easy to make, and tastes oh so good!
I whipped up a batch of Keto Tortillas so we could throw together some tasty tostadas. I made mine a little on the thick side which made them more flexible like a soft tortilla. But let me just say, these were delicious, and I would make them again and again.
So if you plan on doing some camping this summer, keep these recipes in mind. They will definitely make your camping experience as good as any other 🙂
